Commuter Student Programs (Updated 8/19/2008)
Having difficulty making the connection to WVU? We can help you make your transition a little easier. We provide fun activities where you can meet other students, academic progress counseling, referral information, information on campus events and activities, community service opportunities, and a place to relax between classes.
Fall Commuter Community Service Events
Brian and Tara are working hard to provide commuters with community service opportunities for the upcoming school year. We are organizing another American Red Cross Blood Drive for commuters, taking place on Monday, September 29 at the WVU Student Rec Center at a time to be announced. Donors who present receive a t-shirt and other freebies. For more information, contact Tara Pletcher at tara.pletcher@mail.wvu.edu.
On-Campus Job Opportunities
The Student Communication Center and the Office of Undergraduate Student Recruitment are looking for energetic, dedicated student counselors. This paid position requires counselors to work a minimum of two days per week. For more information, download the listing here, and you may apply for a position online at http://simpleforms.scripts.wvu.edu/sf/StudentCommunicationCenter.
For information on other on-campus job opportunities, visit the WVU Office of Student Employment website at http://www.studentjobs.wvu.edu/.
Parking Information
For information about University, public, and private parking lots in the Downtown and Evansdale campuses, see the Parking Info page. There are still some private parking spaces available on the Downtown and Evansdale campuses.
As of July 15, 2008, the WVU Parking Management Office will begin towing parking violators who have accumulated more than five unpaid parking tickets from University lots. Please do not park in University permit lots before 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, and remember to never park in a University lot with a 24-hour restriction.
