Commuter Student Programs
Having difficulty making the connection to WVU? We can help you make your transition a little easier. We provide fun activities where you can meet other students, academic progress counseling, referral information, information on campus events and activities, community service opportunities, and a place to relax between classes.
First-Year Academy (FYA) and New Student Welcome Information
If you are an incoming first-year student, please remember that you must attend the First-Year Academy events in order to receive credit in the First-Year Seminar class in which you are registered. FYA events take place on Saturday, August 16. For updated information, visit http://welcomeweek.wvu.edu/, or contact the First-Year Seminar Office at 304-293-2316. The New Student Welcome takes place at the Coliseum on Sunday, August 17. Please arrive by 1:30 PM, and be sure to stop by the Commuter/Transfer table at the Blue Gate entrance to receive your ticket. Commuters must also attend two Commuter Welcome Week events to receive points toward their final grade in the First-Year Seminar classes. See Upcoming Commuter Events below for a listing of these events.
On-Campus Job Opportunities
Need to work while attending WVU? The Office of Student Employment helps WVU students find part-time and seasonal employment in order to fund their college educations. Whether students are interested in seriously supplementing their financial aid, keeping themselves in pizza money, or upgrading their cell phone, the office can help with the job hunt.
Parking and Traffic Information
