Carrie Showalter

I’m a proud Morgantown native with deep roots in this community, and I’m honored to serve West Virginia University as Dean of Students. My connection to WVU is both personal and professional—several members of my family, including my husband and daughter, are proud Mountaineer graduates, and my son is currently pursuing his degree.

Since 2007, I’ve been privileged to work at WVU in a variety of leadership roles within Student Life. Throughout this time, I’ve partnered with dedicated colleagues to enhance the student experience in ways that reflect and support WVU’s core values.

The Student Life team and I are committed to creating a transformative experience for every Mountaineer, every single day. We bring this mission to life through a wide range of opportunities that engage, inspire, and challenge students both inside and outside the classroom.

West Virginia and its flagship University pride themselves on being accessible and approachable, and I strive to embody those qualities in my work. I welcome students and families to reach out with questions, comments, or concerns at any point along their WVU journey.
