Gary G. Furbee, II

I’m a proud West Virginia native and a first-generation college graduate from WVU, and it is an incredible honor to serve my alma mater as Vice President for Student Life. My goal is to help create a vibrant, supportive campus experience where Mountaineers can learn, grow, and thrive.

Since joining West Virginia University in 2008, I’ve had the privilege of serving in a variety of leadership roles, most recently serving as Deputy General Counsel and Associate Vice President of Real Estate Operations. In these roles I collaborated closely with students, staff, and faculty to ensure our programs, services, and policies reflect the diverse needs of our campus. I have also overseen the University’s real estate operations, including commercial properties and University Apartments, where I was an advocate for our students who lived on campus.

I look forward to being a part of our students journey at WVU – providing support, fostering growth, and celebrating their successes along the way.
